SCORPION and Police Bust Illegal Trade of Eight Rare Animals in Pekanbaru, Sumatra (February 27, 2016)

Scorpion Foundation and Riau Province police busted illegal trade of eight rare animals in Pekanbaru, Riau Province on Saturday, 27th of February 2016. Three traders were arrested, and eight animals, which are protected by the Indonesia law, were confiscated including six slow lorises, one siamang, and one gibbon.

Another Leopard Brigade Work: Seven Stuffed Deer Heads Confiscated (February 26, 2016)

Seven stuffed deer heads arrived at the office of Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) North Sumatra chapter on Friday (26/02/2016) for identification. They were confiscated from a barbershop at Jalan Juanda Medan.

SPORC’s Leopard Brigade in Sumatra Confiscates Three Protected Birds (February 25, 2016)

The Leopard Brigade (Brigade Macan Tutul) of Forest Police Rapid Reaction Unit (Satuan Khusus Polisi Kehutanan Reaksi Cepat/ SPORC ) today raided several places in Medan and Deli Serdang to find out protected species in illegal captivity. The raids resulted in confiscation of 3 protected birds (Brahminy Kite, Black eagle , and Hornbill).
