Was this Taman Safari Lion Drugged? (April 3, 2016)

SCORPION investigators were shocked to see a lion looking drugged at Taman Safari, Bogor, last weekend. The lion was being used to attract visitors and pay to have their photo taken with it. This is cruel to the lion.

Orangutan Skull On Sale in Borneo, Scorpion Foundation Insists MoEF to Carry Out Investigation (March 29)

Scorpion Foundation found orangutan skull and several other protected animal’s parts on sale in a shop in Singkawang, West Kalimantan province of Indonesia in Borneo. This finding has been reported to the Director General of Law Enforcement at the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) on 29th March 2016. Following the written report by email, Director of Scorpion Foundation also communicated the case to the Director of Enforcement, Mr. Muhammad Yunus via sms.

SCORPION, ISCP, and SPORC Rescue 2 Slow Lorises in Balige, Sumatra (March 24, 2016)

The Scorpion Foundation, Indonesian Species Conservation Program (ISCP), and the Forest Polic Rapid Response Unit (Polisi Hutan Reaksi Cepat/SPORC) rescued 2 slow lorises from Desa Pantai, Jalan Raja Sibagot, Balige, Tobasa district of North Sumatra Province, on Thursday night (24th of March 2016).

SCORPION and SPORC Rescue 4 Gibbons to SRI Animal Transit Centre in Panyabungan (March 24, 2016)

To avoid any conflict with the surrounding community, and for better care of the animals, Scorpion Foundation and SPROC’s Leopard Brigade rescued the animals by translocating them to the Sumatran Rainforest Institute (SRI) animal transit facility in Panyabungan, Mandailing Natal district of North Sumatra Province.
