Desa Bukit Mas merupakan daerah yang berdekatan dengan kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser, Sumatra.
Setelah dievakuasi dari desa Bukit Mas, tim membawa burung hantu tersebut ke Pusat Penyelamatan Satwa di Sibolangit untuk diperiksa kondisi kesehatannya, agar burung burung hantu tersebut memiliki kesempatan untuk dilepasliarkan kembali ke alam liar.
Burung hantu tersebut ditangkap oleh kumpulan anak-anak dari pohon manggis. Kemudian menjadi bahan tontonan yang menarik perhatian banyak masyarakat lokal.
