Close down all illegal wildlife sales in Indonesia. The wildlife belongs in the wild. Indonesian Law No. 5/1990 says: Every person who kill, capture, keep protected species (alive or dead) can be sentenced to five years in jail and fine of IDR100 million (US$7,400.00).
Scorpion Reports “Illegal” Birds on Hotel Yard in Sibolangit, North Sumatra (September 22, 2016)

Scorpion Foundation reported its findings of protected animals to Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) in North Sumatra  on Thursday (22/09/2016). The animals were found by Scorpion Investigator on the yard of The “H” Hotel ​in Sibolangit, Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatra province.


 The protected animals included nias parrot, hornbills and cockatoos.

 

In its letter, Scorpion questioned whether The “H” Hotel has conservation permit or not. If it turns out not to have it, then Scorpion ask BBKSDA in North Sumatra to raid the animals.
