Posted on 14:58 June 05th, 2021

Dukung upaya kami, cek link Bio.

The two monkeys (Macaca nemestrina), named Ferry (male) and Siti (female), have been successfully secured by officers from the Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA SU SKW II) together with field staff from the SCORPION Foundation, in Medan Belawan, North Sumatra. This activity was carried out in response to public complaints. After being examined by a veterinarian, the two monkeys were declared healthy, then released into the Bandar Baru Forest, Sibolangit.
.
In the past year, SCORPION and BBKSDA have released 4 monkeys around the forest. We plan to re-monitor monkeys that have been released in the wild. We know this monkey rescue effort is not yet ideal. Therefore, SCORPION plans to build a monkey facility center as one of the efforts to increase the conservation of this species in Sumatra. Support our efforts, check the link in Bio.
