Setelah koordinasi terlebih dahulu dengan staf lapangan SCORPION, seorang ulama Islam, Ustad Sahran Hutasuhut menyisipkan pesan konservasi dalam sambutannya di hadapan kurang lebih 25 peserta salat Jumat. Ia menyampaikan kepada hadirinnya dalam acara salat Jumat di Masjid Sitandiang, Desa Bulu Mario, Kecamatan Sipirok Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan, bahwa setiap orang memiliki tanggung jawab untuk menjaga lingkungan dan satwa liar.

Dalam pidatonya, ia juga meminta seluruh peserta untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem kita dengan tidak merusak hutan dan satwa liar khususnya orangutan Tapanuli yang merupakan spesies endemik di daerah tersebut.

After first coordinating with SCORPION field staff, an Islamic ulama, Ustad Sahran Hutasuhut inserted a conservation message in his speech in front of approximately 25 participants of Friday prayers. He told his audience at Friday prayers at Sitandiang Mosque, Bulu Mario Village, Sipirok SubDistrict of South Tapanuli Regency, that everyone has a responsibility to take care of the environment and wildlife.

In his speech, he also asked all participants to maintain the balance of our ecosystem by not damaging forests and wildlife, especially the Tapanuli orangutan which is an endemic species in the area.
