After three years of suffering, chained at waist and without access to drinking water 24/7 this pig-tailed macaque finally got the second chance to live in the wild. This male adult ape was released on Thursday (April 2, 2020) on protected forest at Bandar Baru village, Sibolangit sub-district of Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatra.
This animal was chained at neck (sometimes the chain moved to waist if the neck was injured) for three years under a tree on Tandam Hilir II village, Hamparan Perak, Deli Serdang regency in North Sumatra but last month, BBKSDA and Scorpion rescued this animal and finally returned him back in the wild.
