Wildlife preservation monitoring in Medan and surrounding cities (April 23, 2020)
Posted on 11:16 April 27th, 2020

Thursday, April 23, 2020. The Scorpion Team carries out monitoring activities to conserve wildlife in the city of Medan and surrounding areas. Initially the traveling team looked at Medan Denai sub-district, then continued on to Medan Tembung sub-district, and in the end the team found a monkey keeper in Percut Sei Tuan sub-district. the team held a conversation with the animal owner. He said that the monkeys that he kept were already 3 years old and had been cared for since childhood, it would be a shame if the monkeys were released back into the wild. the cost he incurred is not much but the emotional bonding relationship they have built since they first met. the condition of the monkeys that we saw in a waist in a chain and attached to a steel pole. from this incident we can learn that wildlife also have the basic right to live in the wild, because in essence they will experience changes in attitude and nature of the wild if kept in a place that is not their habitat.
