Prevent Cruelty to Animal in Hamparan Perak, North Sumatra (March 9, 2020)

A pig tail macaque was chained at waist under a tree on Tandam Hilir II village, Hamparan Perak, Deli Serdang regency in North Sumatra. There was no access for this ape to drinking water 24/7. Beside the cruelty,  this animal could also be dangerous to people especially children in the area.

The Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) in North Sumatra and Scorpion Foundation decided to rescue this animal and put it  in a temporary holding cage of the BBKSDA in Stabat for medical check up. When ready and healthy this animal will be returned back in the wild.
