Awareness Campaign for Protection of Tapanuli Orangutan through Islamic Lectures in Maju Mambe Village, South Tapanuli (November 27, 2020)

The SCORPION Foundation Field staff continues to support the role of religious leaders to give lectures at the mosque by including messages about the importance of protecting the Tapanuli orangutan.

On Friday Prayer (27/11) at Al Iman Mosque in Maju Mambe Village, Marancar Julu Subdistrict in South Tapanuli regency, an Islamic Ulema Nasrullah Siregar asked his audience to help government effort to protect Orangutans and other protected birds. Approximately 50 people attended this Friday event. Maju Mambe village locates in wes blok of Batang Toru Ecosystem-the habitat of the Tapanuli orangutan.
