Close down all illegal wildlife sales in Indonesia. The wildlife belongs in the wild. Indonesian Law No. 5/1990 says: Every person who kill, capture, keep protected species (alive or dead) can be sentenced to five years in jail and fine of IDR100 million (US$7,400.00).
SCORPION Reports Illegal Wildlife Sale in Wates, Kulon Progo, to BKSDA Yogyakarta (May 20, 2016)

 SCORPION Foundation on Friday (20th of May 2016) reported its findings in the Wates wildlife market, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta on the sale of illegal birds. The report was addressed to the Head of the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (KSDA) Yogyakarta, Ir. Ammy Nurwati, M.M. by electronic mail.

 SCORPION investigator visited Wates market in Yogyakarta on Thursday, 19th of May 2016.

 Approximately 200 individuals were found in this market comprise of 20 species. Scorpion also asked the traders whether the animals on sale were received with transport permit (SATS-DN) as required by the ministerial decree No. 447 / Kpts-II / 2003 but it turned out none of them can show SATS-DN of animals that entered Wates market. Therefore, Scorpion asked Ir. Ammy Nurwati, M.M to control all the wildlife entering Yogyakarta area so that all equipped with SATS-DN.
