Illegal wildlife traffic in Pasthy Market (Yogyakarta) is reported by Scorpion Foundation to BKSDA Yogyakarta today. The report accompanied by photographs of the wildlife market.

 

Scorpion Investigator visited Pasthy market on Tuesday 26 April 2016 and checked if the wildlife entered Pasthy market covered by distribution permit (SATS-DN) from BKSDA. No animals covered by SATS-DN.

 

According to Regulation of the Minister of Forestry No. 447/Kpts-II/2003 concerning administration directive of harvest or capture and distribution of the specimens of wild plant and animal species (Article 61), any activities of domestic commercial distribution shall be covered by Permit for Domestic Transport of Wild Plants and Animals (SATS-DN).”  Wild animal distribution without SATS-DN can be categorized as illegal.
