SCORPION: Ban All Cruel Animal Attractions in the Indonesian Zoos!!! (February 10, 2017)
Posted on 21:45 February 11th, 2017

The Scorpion Wildlife Trade Monitoring Group requested that the Minister of Environment and Forestry issues a ban on all cruel animal attractions in Indonesia.  Based on the monitoring of Scorpion in the Indonesian zoos, the wildlife attractions are mostly used for the sake of entertainment rather than educational interests, therefore. The attractions are a form of animal abuse and exploitation.

In the letter, which was sent by email, Scorpion also attached a video from the latest monitoring result of wildlife attractions in Gembira Loka Zoo, Yogyakarta, on the 29th of January 2017.

The letter also copied to the Director General of Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems, and the Director of  Biodiversity Conservation at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
