Preventing Tapanuli orangutan capture in Batu Satail Village (June 30, 2020)

Field staff of Scorpion Foundation in Batang Toru got an information about an orangutan (Pongo tapanuliensis) entering local community plantation area in Batu Satail village, Sipirok sub-district of South Tapanuli regency.  On Tuesday (2020/06/30) the staff and two local villagers visited the plantation and monitored the forest  near Batu Satail village.  The team did not find any orangutans but  met with some local villagers to  advise them not to capture orangutan.
