Photograph of a man who shot dead a hornbill went viral on the social media after the culprit uploaded  the photo on a Facebook account by the name of Bobiean Sikro. This issue has been reported to the Director General of Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Environment and Forest.

The Head of Public Relation at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Djati Witjaksono confirmed on Wednesday (2019.06.19) that it had received report of this issue and was currently coordinating with the Indonesian Police for investigation. 

Hornbill is included in the list of animals protected by law in Indonesia.
