A Young Elephant is Illegally Snared and Injured in East Aceh, Sumatra (June 19, 2019)

A young elephant was found snared with the condition of its front left leg being injured as a result of being caught in a snare on a community garden in Batu Sumbang Village, Simpang Jernih, East Aceh district, Wednesday morning, 19th of June 2019. 

Head of Wildlife Authority (BKSDA) in Aceh province, Mr. Sapto told the press that this one year female elephant had been snared for about two weeks and now under intensive care by BKSDA veterinarian.
