Due to interruption of
wildlife habitat because of road construction and other development activities,
this leopard cat infant entered residential area in Cikeben village,
Sibolangit.
A villager captured this cat, reported
and handed it over to Indonesian Species Conservation Programme (ISCP). Director of the ISCP, Rudianto Sembiring told
Scorpion Foundation on Tuesday (25th of October 2016) that this
leopard cat infant was under care of ISCP. He has reported this cat to the
Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) in North Sumatra.
This leopard cat infant is about 6 weeks old. "If it is released into the forest now, then this infant will find it hard to survive. He still needs treatment, and will be released to the wild in about 4 months," Rudianto said.
