Close down all illegal wildlife sales in Indonesia. The wildlife belongs in the wild. Indonesian Law No. 5/1990 says: Every person who kill, capture, keep protected species (alive or dead) can be sentenced to five years in jail and fine of IDR100 million (US$7,400.00).
Governor’s Response to Protest of Scorpion (October 13, 2016)

The Scorpion Wildlife Monitoring Group demanded Jakarta Governor closes down illegal wildlife market in Jatinegara, East Jakarta in a demonstration in front of Governor Office on Thursday (13/10/2016). Following the demonstration the media had a brief interview with the Governor (Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok).

“I haven’t got a report, but for sure, it is not allowed (to sell wildlife in Jatinegara),” the governor said.

Scorpion asked the governor to close down Jatinegara market because protected wildlife often on sale in this market. Besides that, the wildlife on this market are not covered with transportation document (Surat Angkut Tumbuhan dan Satwa Dalam Negeri/SATS-DN).
