Thousands of birds sent illegally from Bengkulu (Sumatrra) to Jakarta every month. The birds include from species of Enggano White-eye (Zosterops salvadorii), Oriental white-eye (Zosterops palpebrosus), Asian glossy starling (Aplonis panayensis) and hanging parrot (Loriculus). Senior Investigator of Scorpion Foundation, Marison Guciano, told Kompas.com, the birds are smuggled to Jakarta via public bus, courier service, and private cars.
