On the 25th of April 2024 the Wildlife Authority (BBKSDASU) together with Scorpion Indonesia Foundation evacuated a macaque from the office of Fire Department in Tebingtinggi. This animal was kept at the office of the Fire Department in Tebingtinggi for one month before the evacuation. The macaque had now been moved to the Batangtoru Macaque Rescue Center for medical check, and rehabilitation.
