An 8-Meters Python is Evacuated from Sei Serdang, Langkat, Sumatra, for Rehabilitation (August 15, 2020)

On Friday, August 14, a local community in Sei Serdang, Langkat regency, reported to the Gunung Leuser National Park (GLNP) authority that an 8-meter snake, (python) attacking community's goats on his village.

On Saturday morning, August 15, a staff of the GLNP- Area 3, got the information of the presence of the snake in Sei Serdang.

As the village was adjacent to the GLNP area and for the safety of this snake and the local community, the GLNP evacuated this animal to the local GLNP office in Stabat, Langkat. On the same day, the Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) in North Sumatra together and Scorpion Foundation staff took the snake to the BBKSDA office for rehabilitation and will be released back in the wild when ready.
