West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan: End Dog-Wild Boar Fights (October 25, 2017)
Posted on 18:57 October 25th, 2017

The Governor of West Java Province, Ahmad Heryawan appealed to his community to end dog-wild boar fight (locally known as Dugong) because it is a clear animal torture.

"Whatever the reasons are, whether it is a violation of law or not, but it is a very clear animal torture," Ahmad Heryawan who is also known as Ahyer told detik.com in Bandung on Wednesday (October 25, 2017).

"I get the news that the dog and wild boar fight to death, this I think we have to learn. If
our treatment of animals is too far especially if gambling is involved, we are worried. If there is a violence to animals it cannot be tolerated anymore," he said

Answering a question if provincial government of West Java will ban the Dugong, the governor said: "I am more inclined not to do that (the dog-wild boar fight), because of the violence against animals, they have the right to live they have the right to be properly cared for by human beings as God's living creature," he said.
