The Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) and Partners Evacuate Tapanuli Orangutan to Prevent Conflict with Human at Dolok Nauli, Adiankoting (November 13, 2019)

With support of local forestry department (KPH XII), Sustainable Ecosystem Foundation (YEL), Yayasan Orangutan Sumatra Lestari (YOSL)  and Scorpion Foundation the Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) Area II (Pematangsiantar) evacuated a Tapanuli orangutan  (Pongo tapanuliensis) from Dolok Nauli village in Adiankoting subdistrict, North Tapanuli, to a Limited Forest Production Area near a protected forest in the subdistrict.

The orangutan was released by Mr. Lantas Hutagallung and Poltak Sinaga from BBKSDA accompanied by Jeni, Demon, Rudi, Jonatan, Deden, and Dana from YOSL,  Jhon Manurung, Rema Talambanua, Andri Sitompul from YEL; Phai and Sumabrata from Scorpion Foundation, and some others from local forestry service.


    The Tapanuli orangutan which was encountered at Dolok Nauli village, Adiankoting had been translocated to a better location in Adiankoting. (BBKSDA)
