Elsa, a female Sumatran tiger, which was snared by hunters in April 2015 and rescued by the Government Conservation Agency ( BKSDA) in Bengkulu passed away in the Seblat Elephant Training Centre in North Bengkulu district of Bengkulu Province on Wednesday (20/1/2016). Zirun, a staff of the Centre said, the death of Elsa caused by a sickness that is still under examination.
"She was sick, and died. She was under the care of a specialist doctor," Zirun told Kompas.con on Monday (25/1/2016). Elsa was burried in the Seblat Elephant Training Centre following an autopsy of her body.
Meanwhile the head of BKSDA Bengkulu, Anggoro Dwi Sujianto, confirmed that Elsa already passed away. “The sickness of Elsa is still being checked in laboratory. Her heart looked unsual, therefore, it is being examined in laboratory,” Anggoro said.
