Joint Patrol in Dolok Sibual-buali Nature Reserve (April 10, 2023)

Scorpion Indonesia Foundation, forestry police, and local community, carried out a joint patrol in Padang Bujur village, Sipirok subdistrict, South Tapanul Regency on Monday, 10 March 2023. During the patrol, the team which consisted of the forestry police from the wildlife authority (BKSDASU) field staff, discovered a pile of wood in the village.

It was not clear yet where the pile of wood was taken from, but it was suspected they were stolen from the conservaton area (Dolok Sibualbuali)-one of the habitats of Tapanuli orangutan in the Batang Toru Ecosystem.

Follow up visit will be made again to find out where the wood was stolen from.
