Scorpion Foundation this morning (Monday, 11/07/2016) visited Depok wildlife market located near Depok Baru Railway Station. During the visit Scorpion found approximately 5,000 illegal birds on sale.
From
the information obtained from traders, the birds came from Central and East
Java Provinces. Transport of birds to
Depok were not covered with transportation permits (SATS-DN) while Minister of
Forestry degree No. 447 / Kpts-II / 2003 requires all domestic commercial
circulation of wildlife be covered with transport permits (SATS-DN).
