A silver langur or silvery lutung (Trachypithecus cristatus) was electrocuted in Tano Bato village, Padangsidimpuan, North Sumatra, causing him to fall down and unconscious. A resident of Tano Bato took the animal and put it in a cage next to his house. The villager was thought to be dying soon but fortunately the next day, it turned out that the animal was still alive.
The person who found it, named Timmi Ashari, then handed over the animal to the BBKSDA office in Padangsidimpuan. The BBKSDA then handed over the animal to Scorpion Indonesia for treatment.
Currently, the animal is receiving treatment from a Scorpion Indonesia veterinarian. In order to get maximum treatment, the veterinarian also coordinated with the IAR Indonesia veterinarian in Bogor, West Java. The condition of the langur has begun to improve.
If the condition of the animal is healthy, then the BBKSDASU will determine the next action for the langur.
