Close down all illegal wildlife sales in Indonesia. The wildlife belongs in the wild. Indonesian Law No. 5/1990 says: Every person who kill, capture, keep protected species (alive or dead) can be sentenced to five years in jail and fine of IDR100 million (US$7,400.00).
Allegedly Illegal Song Birds On Sale in Aek Pining, Batangtoru (April 25, 2020)

Allegedly illegal song birds (White-rumped shama, Greater green leafbird, and  Sumatran laughingthrush) were on sale at Aek Pining village, Batangtoru, South Tapanuli. Field staff of Scorpion Foundation in Batangtoru visited the bird sale location on 25 April 2020 and took some photographs. These birds were captured in Sibabangun, Central Tapanuli. According to a source, protected birds are often on sale in this location but when visiting the location Scorpion did not find any protected animals. This locaton need to be monitored further. All wildlife captures must be covered by permit from BBKSDA, and transportation of any wildlife (protected or non-protected) must also be accompanied by transport permit (SATS-DN) from BBKSDA.
