BKSDA North Sumatra Releases 2 Confiscated Eagles in Sibolangit Nature Recreation Park (April 18, 2016)

Two black eagles which were confiscated in Medan last month finally got the second chance to live in the wild. A source at the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) in North Sumatra confirmed to Scorpion on Monday (April 18, 2016).

WAZA statement on alleged sedation of lion cub at Taman Safari Indonesia (April 7, 206)

On 6 April 2016, the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) was forwarded video footage of a lion cub at member zoo, Taman Safari Indonesia. The lion cub in the video clip seemed to be sedated for a photoshoot with visitors. WAZA is presently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.

Taman Safari denies drugging photo prop lion, says it was just sleepy (April 7, 2016)

Taman Safari Indonesia denied that they had drugged the lion, which was revealed to be a cub. A spokesperson for the animal theme park said they have rules in place so that the photo prop cub can get all the naptime he requires.
