The selfie culture has become a worldwide phenomenon over the last decade, fueled by a narcissistic need for people to share every second of their life on social media. Coupled with a sense of self-entitlement and a complete lack of awareness, this has led to increasingly irresponsible travel behavior in the form of animal selfies, which contribute to wildlife exploitation and animal abuse on a global scale.

Posted on 15:46 April 25th, 2016 Read more...Scorpion Foundation insisted the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Jakarta to enforce Forestry Minister decree Number 447/Kpts-II/2013 concerning the Administration Directive of Harvest and Capture and Distribution of the Specimens of Wild Plant and Animal Species. According this Ministerial decree, transportation of wildlife in Indonesia must be done with domestic transportation permit (SATS-DN). Without SATS-DN, transportation of wildlife is illegal.

After the launching, Scorpion Foundation monitored the wildlife market in Jatinegara on Tuesday (19th of April 2016). There were less wildlife on sale compared to the condition before the launching of the national movement.
