Two Sumatran tigers are kept in small cages at the office of Conservation Agency (BKSDA) in Bengkulu. They are caged like chickens for seven months. An NGO group regrets the conditions of the two Critically Endangered tigers which are placed in inpropriate small cages for seven months.
Gunung Gea, Director of SCORPION Foundation said: “Tigers caged like chickens for seven months is very wrong. I strongly recommend that the BKSDA Bengkulu immediately remove the two tigers to better enclosures.”
“We must get help for these tigers before they die,” Gunung Gea stressed.
Marison Guciano, Director of IFOTA said: “I don’t understand why the two tigers are kept in such small cages. BKSDA Bengkulu should take serious action to find a solution for the two tigers, to prepare better cages,” Marison said.
One of the tigers, named Giring, was trapped by BKSDA in February 2015 and, until now, it has been 7 months, Giring is still in the trap cage.
Another sumatran tiger, a female named Elsa, also placed inside another trap cage at BKSDA Bengkulu.
Scorpion Investigator checked on Tuesday (21 September 2015) and found that the two tigers were still in trap cages.
