Close down all illegal wildlife sales in Indonesia. The wildlife belongs in the wild. Indonesian Law No. 5/1990 says: Every person who kill, capture, keep protected species (alive or dead) can be sentenced to five years in jail and fine of IDR100 million (US$7,400.00).
Protected Nias Parrot Enters Aceh West-Coast (September 24, 2015)

Nias parrot (Gracula religiosa robusta), protected by Government Regulation number 7/1999, on sale at wildlife shop in Simpang Peut, west coast of Aceh in Nagan Raya district.

Price of 1 parrot is Rp. 2,500,000. Several other common birds are also on sale at this shop such as Eclectus parrot (Eclectus roratus), Common Flameback (Dinopium javanense),  Greater Green Leafbird (Chloropsis sonnerati), and White-rumped Shama (Copsychus malabaricus).

Nias parrots can be easily found on sales in Medan (Pasar Bintang, Merak Jingga) and in Jakarta (Pasar Pramuka), and Bandung. In Jakarta, the Nias parrot is called “Medan Parrot,” while in Medan it is called “Aceh Parrot” or “Mentawai Parrot”.
