Posted on 13:18 December 19th, 2017

Four Non-Government Organisations (NGO’s): Scorpion Foundation (also known as Scorpion Wildlife Trade Monitoring Group); Indonesian Animal Rescue (IAR) Indonesia; Planet Indonesia Foundation; and Indonesian Animal Welfare Community (IAWC) Foundation held a meeting with the Indonesian President’s expert staff in Bina Graha, Jakarta on Monday (18th of December 2017).

In the meeting, these NGO’s raised wildlife issues, insisting that the presidential office help to end cruelty to animals in Indonesia.

The sub-standard welfare of animals in Indonesia has been the focus of international media lately. Examples include the case of the sun bears begging for food in Bandung Zoo , dogs fighting with wild boars, and various orangutan issues.

The expert staff at the Presidential Office, Hugeng Suryo Nugroho, welcomed the visit of these four NGO’s for the discussion with Presidential Office staff.

Attending from Presidential Staff Office included: Hugeng Suryo Nugroho, Tiur Atmomihardjo, and Aulia Biben S.
