The Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) in North Sumatra Province and Scorpion Foundation, also known as Scorpion Wildlife Trade Monitoring Group, confiscated an illegal bird (black eagle) from Garuda Luxurious Housing Complex at Jalan Garuda Medan on Wednesday (4th of October 2017). This bird was placed in front of the illegal owner's house in the Garuda Luxurious Housing Complex for more than one year before the confiscation by BBKSDA.
Prior to that, BBKSDA and Scorpion had confiscated five eagles this year, including one from Pasar Merah, one from Tanjung Anom, and three from Griya Hotel.
All birds are kept in BBKSDA Rescue Centre in Sibolangit, Deli Serdang for medical care and will be released when ready.
