Scorpion Foundation Activists Discover Starving Animals at Bandung Zoo (May 22, 2016)

When visiting Bandung Zoo, West Java, at the weekend an investigator saw skinny sun bears so hungry one was eating its own dung. Others begged zoo visitors, who fed the bears junk food.

BKSDA North Sumatra Confiscates Over 400 Birds in Kualanamo International Airport (May 17, 2016)

The Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) in North Sumatra confiscated over 400 birds for using false document in Kuala Namo International Airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra province of Indonesia. The birds consist of Love bird, Greater green leafbird, and White-rumped shama.

Direct Contacts between Orangutans and Visitors and Cruelty to Elephants in Bukittinggi Zoo Must be Stopped (May 15, 2016)

Supervision of animals in Bukittinggi Zoo needs serious improvements. From monitoring of Scorpion Investigator in the zoo today (Sunday, 15 May 2016), visitors were free to make direct contact with the orangutans. This can pose a health problem because human diseases can be transmitted to the orangutans as human DNA has 97% similarity with orangutans.’
