The Scorpion Foundation insists the management of Mata Kucing Recreation Forest in Batam, province of Riau Islands of Indonesia, to improve sun bear enclosure in a mini zoo inside this recreation area .
The Scorpion conveyed this insistence due to inappropriate condition of the sun bear enclosure where floor was made of concrete, and there were no living trees inside the enclosure that could support sun bear natural behavior.
Scorpion sent the letter to the Mata Kucing management on 15th of August2018. In the letter, Scorpion also attached photographs of the sun bear enclosure which was taken by Scorpion team members who visited this recreation forest last week.
To attract visitors, the management also have a mini zoo inside the area where they keep sun bears, crocodiles,snakes, birds, etc.
