The Scorpion Foundation and the wildlife authority (BBKSDA-SU) rescued a leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis) from Sampean Village, Dolok Anggul subdistrict of Humbang Hasundutan Regency on Tuesday (21 June 2022). After being taken from the village, the animal was then escorted by the Scorpion Foundation to the Sibolangit Animal Rescue Center in Deli Serdang Regency for a health check and treatment.

If this protected animal is healthy and ready, he will get the second chane to live in the wild.

The owner of the animal, Mr Eko Susanto Simanullang, caught the wild  cat in his farm area in Sampean Village on Monday, June 20, 2022. Then he checked the status of the animal through the website. After knowing its status as a protected animal, he contacted the North Sumatra BBKSDA office for hand-over.
