Monitoring Illegal Poaching in Lubuk Raya Nature Reserve (June 14, 2022)

On Tuesday (14/06/2022) the Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA-SU) and Scorpion Foundation carried out a joint patrol in Bulumario part of Dolok Lubukraya Nature Reserve with focus  on monitoring illegal poaching in the area. In the past, Illegal poachers frequently entered this conservation area in Bulumario village.

The patrol team discovered some wildlife traps and collected them. Although the team did not encounter people entering the area, but such patrol was very important to create cautious among the illegal poachers.

The patrol team was led by the head of Area V Sipirok of BBKSDA-SU, Refdi Azmi. Members included 5 other staff of Area V: Dany R.P. Sitanggang; Edy Supriono, Tagor Sinaga, Mahdin Oloan, Fahmi Humala Harahap, Kaston P. Hutabarat. Representatives from Scorpion Foundation and from local community also participated in this mission.
