Law Enforcement on Forestry Sector in Leuser is Discussed in Medan (September  26, 2018)

The Directorate of Biodiversity Conservation at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) carried out a Focus Group Discussion on the situation of law enforcement in forestry sector pertaining to the Leuser landscape in North Sumatra and Aceh. The FGD which was held for two days, was led by a Senior Conservationist, Darmawan Listianto with participants from various relevant government agencies, and NGO's inclding representative from Scorpion Foundation.

The FGD discussed about strength and weakness of each agency in law enforcement. This FGD is part of a comprehensive study on the situation of law enforcement in five landscapes of Sumatra including Leuser, Kerinci Seblat, Bukit Barisan Selatan, Berbak and Sembilang.
