Latest assessment of orangutan population indicates,  71,820 individuals left, according to a joint press statement of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry’s Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation and the Indonesian Orangutan Forum (Forum Orangutan Indonesia/FORINA) on Tuesday (22nd of August 2017) in Jakarta.
