Scorpion Foundation today sends another report to the head of the Natural
Resource Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Jakarta reporting illegal wildlife traffic in Pramuka wildlife market. The the wildlife entered Jakarta without transport permit from BKSDA office where
the wildlife came from.
Scorpion recommends that BKSDA monitor the SATS-DN of wildlife traffic in
Jakarta so that this office can monitor and control the trade of the wildlife.
Regulation of the Minister of Forestry No.
447/Kpts-II/2003 concerning administration directive of harvest or capture and
distribution of the specimens of wild plant and animal species (Article 61)
says: “All and any activities
of domestic commercial distribution shall be covered by Permit for Domestic
Transport of Wild Plants and Animals (SATS-DN).” Therefore, wild animals which entered Jakarta without SATS-DN are illegal.
