Illegal Wildlife in Pramuka Market (Jakarta) Reported Again by Scorpion Foundation to BKSDA Jakarta (April 26, 2016)
Posted on 14:48 April 26th, 2016

Scorpion Foundation today sends another report to the head of the Natural Resource Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Jakarta reporting illegal wildlife traffic in Pramuka wildlife market. The the wildlife entered Jakarta without transport permit from BKSDA office where the wildlife came from.

Scorpion recommends that BKSDA monitor the SATS-DN of wildlife traffic in Jakarta so that this office can monitor and control the trade of the wildlife.

Regulation of the Minister of Forestry No. 447/Kpts-II/2003 concerning administration directive of harvest or capture and distribution of the specimens of wild plant and animal species (Article 61) says:All and any activities of domestic commercial distribution shall be covered by Permit for Domestic Transport of Wild Plants and Animals (SATS-DN).” Therefore, wild animals which entered Jakarta without SATS-DN are illegal.
