The North Sumatra Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA-SU)-Stabat field office and the rangers from Scorpion Indonesia Foundation returned 5 long-tailed macaques in the wild in Karang Gading Nature Reserve, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra province on December 10, 2022.
These monkeys were involved in conflicts with local communities in Royal Mansion Housing Complex in Medan, Suka Maju village in Binjai, and Pangkalan Brandan. To avoid killing these animals, the BBKSDA captured them last week. Now, they are already returned to their wild habitat.
The team who returned these animals to Karang Gading consisted of 6 people including three from BBKSDASU (M. Anshari, Ardiansyah, Matsya) and three from Scorpion Indonesia (Dr. vet. Icha Maria Novita, Rahmadhani, and Futhing).
