Posted on 21:12 April 13th, 2016

The Government Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) in Central Java province of Indonesia appreciated report of Scorpion Foundation on orangutan condition in Taru Jurug Wildlife Park, Surakarta, Central Java.

The BKSDA sent a letter signed by its head, Mr. Suharman, to Scorpion Foundation thanking for the report. In February this year Scorpion Foundation visited the Taru Jurug Widlife Park and found that visitors could throw whatever they wanted to the orangutans without supervision from the park keepers. Scorpion reported this condition to BKSDA Central Java who responded positively to the report by visiting to the park and provided guidance to the park keepers.

According the letter of BKSDA Central Java, a large sign has also been in place at the orangutan enclosure asking visitors not to give anything to the orangutans.
