BBKSDASU and SCORPION Foundation Evacuate a Pig-tailed Macaque from Binjai, North Sumatra

Binjai:-

The BBKSDASU and Scorpion Foundation evacuated a pig-tailed macaque (Macacanemestrina) from the firefighters office (Damkar) in Binjai, North Sumatra province on the 19th of February 2025.

The macaque, an adult female approximately 5 years old, had been translocated to Scorpion Macaque Rescue Center in Batangtoru for medical checkup and rehabilitation. When ready, this macaque will be released back in the wild in Barumun Wildlife Reserve.


Evacuation of the pig-tailed macaque from Jalan Diponegoro No 113, East Binjai because of various conflicts with local residents.
