A unique, very rare and endemic legless lizard, Wegner’s Glass lizard (Dopasia wegneri) was encountered in Batang Toru Forest Complex in Tapanuli, North Sumatra. The encounter was announced by an Indonesian NGO, Yayasan Ekosistem Lestari (YEL), in a book launching ceremony in Medan, Thursday afternoon (September 15, 2017). The book, entitled “Buku Panduan Lapangan – Amfibi & Reptil di Kawasan Hutan Btang Toru” (Field Guide Book – Amphibians and Reptiles of Batang Toru Forest Complex), was authored by Mistar Kamsi, Siska Handayani, Akhmad Junaedi Siregar, and Gabriella Fredriksson.
