A man with initial MI (32 years) was arrested in his house in Helvetia village, Deli Serdang regency of North Sumatra province for involvement in trade of tiger skin. Head of Sumatra Chapter of the Law Enforcement Directorate General of MoEF (Ministry of Environment and Forestry), Edward Sembiring told the media in Medan on Monday (5th of February 2018), his team confiscated various items from the trader including a 95 by 35 cm tiger skin.
Various other accessories made of tiger skin were also confiscated: one ring; two wallets; and two small pieces of tiger leg; and two belts.

Part of body of other rare animals were also confiscated from MI: five teethes of sun bear, three nails of sun bear; four nails of Leopard cat; one bag made of Leopard cat’s skin; and one necklace made of sun bear nails.
MI, the trader, told local media TRIBUN MEDAN, that so far he has sold various wildlife body parts via the social media for 50 times.
