A pig tail macaque was chained at neck under a tree on Tandam Hilir II village, Hamparan Perak, Deli Serdang regency in North Sumatra. There was no access for this ape to drinking water 24/7. Beside the cruelty to this animal this animal can also be a danger to people especially children in the surrounding area.
The Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) in North Sumatra decided to rescue this animal with cooperation of Scorpion Foundation and put it in a temporary holding cage in Stabat for medical check up. When ready and healthy this animal will be returned back in the wild.
