A Long-tailed Macaque escaped from his cage several times in Pulo Brayan village in Medan. When he was out of his cage, he frightened people in the village, therefore, some villagers reported it to the office of BBKSDA-SU.
On the 14th of June 2023, the BBKSDA-SU and Scorpion Indonesia Foundation evacuated this animal from the village. The BBKSDA-SU handed-over the macaque to Scorpion for medical care and rehabilitation in in Scorpion Macaque Rescue Center in Batang Toru.
