Two Wildlife Traders are Confiscated on Sumatra

Palembang: A wildlife trader at 16 Ilir Market, Santi (39),  was arrested by police on Tuesday (2019-04-23). Eight slow lorises were confiscated by police for further legal process. All species of slow lorises are protected by the Indonesian law.

"We arrested SI (Santi) at 16 Ilir wildlife market together with eight protected slow lorises,” Head of Public Relation at the provincial police of South Sumatra, Chief Commissioner  Supriyadi told the media at the South Sumatra provincial police headquarter on Tuesday (2019-04-23).

Padang: Provincial police of West Sumatra arrested a wildlife trader together with some stuffed animals including of tiger skin, tapir head, tiger skeleton, and bones of various protected animals. All these animal derivatives were confiscated together with the trader, with initial S in Bukittinggi.

Head of Public relation at the West Sumatra, Chief Commissioner Syamsi, and Rusdiyan Ritonga from the Wildlife Authority (BKSDA) told the public media on Tuesday (2019-04-23). The trader is the owner of an antique shop at Jalan Ahmad Yani, Bukittinggi.
