Foundation appreciates the Indonesian Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo for
handing-over of 7 stuffed rare animals to the Natural Resources Conservation
Agency (BKSDA) in Jakarta today (Monday, 15th of February 2016). The
seven stuffed animals consists of 4 tigers, 1 leopard cat, and 2 sun bears.
The stuffed
animals arrive at BKSDA Jakarta office with presence of Senior Investigator
from Scorpion Foundation, Marison Guciano.
Scorpion Foundation’s Senior Investigator, Marison
Guciano states: “We appreciate the handing-over of the seven rare animals to BKSDA
Jakarta. This is a good example which should be followed by all other
government officers through out Indonesia.”
Meanwhile the Director of Scorpion Foundation, Gunung Gea says: “the government should show serious
commitment for the Indonesian wildlife
by destroying the stuffed rare animals in a fire in the
presence of NGO’s and the public media.
Such action will avoid having to find secure space for the stuffed animals as
well.”
“If the government destroy all
the stuffed rare animals, that will send a very strong message to traders and
the media,” Gunugn
Gea says.

Foundaiton’s Senior Investigator, Marison Guciano, was the person who
communicated with Minister Tjahjo Kumolo yesterday (Sunday, 14 February 2016)
asking him to hand over all his stuffed animals to BKSDA and the Minister
agreed to the call.
